Retail and Restaurant Commercial Carpet Cleaning
Tips and info on cleaning carpet - why do Minnesotans need a regular cleaning schedule?
Did you know carpet damage can occur at any time of year, not just in the muddy season? The longer dirt and stains sit before cleaning, the harder and more costly they are to remove. A commercial carpet cleaning -and regularly scheduled follow-ups -- will remove spots, spills, dirt and harmful chemicals and will make your carpet look like new. When you compare the per square foot cost of cleaning spills and replacing carpet, it's clear how much money you'll save by getting carpets cleaned regularly.
How often should you steam clean?
Winter de-icing chemicals can cause health issues for patrons and staff as well as damage to electronic equipment. Regular steam cleanings can help reduce this impact. Time between cleanings may vary depending on the amount of traffic in your retail business or restaurant. Steam cleaners are eco-friendly-no harmful chemicals, just environmentally friendly water-based solutions! Why not give us a call at 952-224-7222 for a free estimate?
When comparing carpet cleaning companies, how do you balance professionalism with affordable carpet steam cleaning services?
Thanks to the proliferation of inexpensive carpet cleaning equipment, almost anyone can call himself a commercial carpet cleaner. Minnesota has its share of people who for a small capital investment set up shop. But these are not really professional carpet cleaning companies and they typically don't use high quality commercial-grade carpet cleaning machines. Protect yourself by choosing a company that uses professional equipment and has the knowledge and experience that you need.
No matter where you live in the Twin Cities of Minnesota, whether it's Stillwater, Farmington, Rogers, or anywhere in between, you can call the professional carpet cleaners at Commercial Steam Team to get reliable, economical, and trustworthy service to handle your carpet cleaning needs. A note on types of commercial carpet cleaning
Don't be misled by other commercial cleaning methods, such as shampooing, bonnet cleaning (where the cleaners use an absorbent pad to pick up dirt), and the dry powder method (using chemicals or detergents). These are all commercial-grade methods but are considered "light surface cleaning" because they don't penetrate as deeply into the pile as does a carpet steamer. Company entryways and other high-traffic areas won't look-or smell-- new again unless you get out all the ground-in dirt, not just the stuff on the surface!
Further, people with chemical sensitivities may have problems with chemically-treated carpets. This can be a particular problem after vacuum cleaning which can throw the residue into the air to fall on otherwise clean surface or, worse yet, remain suspended in the air for employees and patrons to ingest.
Climate-specific commercial carpet cleaning
Minnesota and other cold climates face their own special challenges when considering carpet cleaning. First, warm weather helps steam-cleaned carpets dry faster (but we work invisibly, after-hours so all you'll see the next day is clean carpet). Second, some de-icing chemicals can cause health problems or electrical equipment failure in large quantities. Potassium acetate may cause "gastrointestinal disturbances" and magnesium chloride may cause arcing in your computer systems! Even salt from melted ice, tracked in on shoes, can cloud carpet's color. Melted snow and ice can also, if left too long, cause mold. This is why it's even more important to be on a regular schedule-or even add an extra cleaning or two-during the winter months. Please call the professional carpet cleaners at Commercial Steam Team to discuss the schedule and plan that will work best for you! You can reach us at 952-224-7222.
Cleaning carpet - What you can do yourself:
-Reduce the amount of dirt coming into your business with a heavy-duty walk-off mat.
-Vacuum heavily-trafficked areas, such as entrances, at least once a day. This will prevent most dirt from being ground into the carpet.
-For stains that haven't yet set, try sprinkling some club soda onto the stain (after absorbing any extra moisture with a clean cloth). After allowing the soda to set, rub the area with a brush in a circular motion.
And finally, what to leave to the pros:
-Vacuums can only pick up dry soil. Oily dirt, chemicals, mud, and so forth can remain in your carpet until your next regularly scheduled steam cleaning, which should be done once the carpet begins to look dull.
Remember, Commercial Steam Team is here for you. Call us today at 952-224-7222 and see how we can help improve the positive impact of your carpet on your overall image!
